Today we experimented with positive and negative space using Indian ink and tracing paper. We started off by making a grid of 20 squares on our tracing paper (pictured).

We then were provided with big bold letters for us to trace over (pictured) within each square making sure not to go outside of the square this produces a part of the letter which shows a different perspective of the certain letter traced.

Once this was done to all 20 squares we then proceeded to fill in all the letters or backgrounds with Indian ink (pictured) which is a really dark black to show off the positive and negative space in my case I filled in some backgrounds and also letters to show the difference of both.

I found this activity to be a really interesting way of showing type and find the use of it in logos to be really effective. This method is something that I would definitely use in any logo production in the future of the course.
